Motivation

As much as I would like to blame it on pregnancy I just can’t do it. I have been so darn lazy lately. We got our spare rooms sorted through but after that I haven’t done a thing to any of them. The office desk still needs to be painted and book shelves need to be found.  The workout room needs a tad bit of organization for the weights and my miscellaneous stuff that shouldn’t be on the floor. And Reagan’s room needs just about everything. I still have to paint and decide on a crib. I have been on a hunt for a white dresser for her room. I am starting a fund for the glider I want seeing how it is like 700 dollars with the ottoman. Our bedroom doesn’t have a single piece of art on the wall. I haven’t put anything on the potshelves either. So I am thinking of painting one wall royal purple and starting from there. I completely lack creativity. Even Pinterest doesn’t inspire me sometimes.

Austin said he didn't want me to write a list of improvements we are wanting to make to the house because the pricetag will be too painful to bare. Too bad. Maybe this will motivate us. We have owned this house for over a year and I feel like I haven't made any progress with it.
  • We would like to put hardwood floors throughout the house. The previous owners put in cream colored crappy apartment carpet. And my dogs have nearly demolished the grout in the kitchen.
  • With new floors comes new baseboard! Thank goodness because they put in crappy apartment baseboard too.
  • Austin has had the itch to get started on refinishing my kitchen cabinets but we figure it probably isn't a good idea for me to be inhaling a mass amount of wood stain fumes at the moment. So that will have to wait for a little bit.
  • I am in the market for a chandelier for the dining room. There is currently a 1980's brass and cherrywood ceiling fan above my brand new dining room table.
  • New hardware for the doors is a must. I think there is a different knob on every door.
  • Blinds! Holy cow, you should see the terrible red vertical blinds in every room. Why?! Who thought that these were nice? My dogs completely demolished the blinds on the sliding glass door. I couldn't stare at the half eaten slats anymore.

Well, after writing this I got a hint of motivation; we made a trip to Lowe's! We are measuring our windows for new blinds and hopefully we'll get them ordered tonight.

These are my half eaten blinds!

And these are my new curtains! I am thinking I will buy two more panels to make them a little more full.
